RAGE Premiere
Tuesday, September 22, 2009 3:36PM
Here's the trailer for a new film called RAGE that's out this week. Went to the premiere last night at The Box. Video coming soon.
Cool concept -- shot from the perspective of a kid's cell phone camera.
Jude Law in drag.
Judi Dench smokes a joint.
And it's the first film to debut via cell phone as an iPhone download. Cool stuff.
Cece Penniston at Splash with Marty Thomas!
Tuesday, September 22, 2009 3:20PM

Last night I was at Splash to see my friend Marty Thomas sing... A guy named Ron -- who I assume has some kind of power there -- walked up on-stage holding the hand of this lady, interrupting Marty between songs. He whispered something in his ear. Marty, obviously trying to contain his excitement, turns to the crowd -- "Oh my god you guys... this is Cece Penniston!"
He, Cece, and Danny Calvert sang for a bit together, ending with a few notes from Cece's hit "Finally."
Only in New York...
Looking Back... Jon McLaughlin Interview
Saturday, September 19, 2009 12:01PM
One of my favorites... gorgeous, talented, and sweet... AND he remembered me when I bumped into him at an event a couple months after this interview! Yep, I melted.
This is from a year ago -- at the end I say it hits stores soon, but it's been out for awhile. OK Now -- it's pretty fantastic.
I do love a good piano man....
Get on the Bus, Be a Part of History
Friday, September 18, 2009 1:21PM
On October 11, 2009, you can be a part of one of the biggest demonstrations for equality since the Stonewall riots.
40 years after the "first shot" was fired in the gay rights movement, hundreds of thousands are heading to Washington, D.C. to demand equality. If you're gay, or have a gay friend or family member, you should be there.
A handful of amazing people -- gay and straight -- have shown their support by sponsoring buses, so your ride there is FREE.

GET ON THE BUS! See you there!!
Food?
Friday, September 18, 2009 12:30PM
So, I love food. Thinking I'm gonna post a recipe per day... either something I've made or something I saw someone else make.
Tonight I'm in the mood for meatballs...
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork or veal
3 tbsp. minced garlic
3 tbsp. minced onion
1 egg
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1 tbsp. fresh parsley
1 tbsp. fresh basil
salt and pepper
Combine ingredients in a bowl... and shape into 1-2" balls.
You can bake them at 375 degrees on a baking sheet. OR brown them in a pan coated with oil... then add to sauce and let them cook the rest of the way in the sauce before you add to pasta. Use your favorite tomato sauce... or make an easy marinara:
In a pan, saute some pancetta (italian bacon), if you're not vegetarian (this is optional). Add diced onions; saute until translucent. Add minced garlic. Salt and pepper. Then a splash of good red wine -- maybe chianti -- just to deglaze the pan. Let it cook of for a minute. Then a can of crushed tomatoes. Maybe some diced tomatoes too if you like it chunky! Then add some chopped fresh basil. Let it all simmer for 15-20 minutes. Bada-bing, bada-boom! Yummy.
Coco Before Chanel Red Carpet Premiere
Thursday, September 17, 2009 5:35PM
On the red carpet for the premiere of Coco Before Chanel. I chat with the adorable Audrey Tautou (Da Vinci Code, Amelie) who stars as Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in this biopic, and the oh-so-charming Alessandro Nivola.
Catch it in theaters in NY and LA on September 25!
Landon Pigg
Thursday, September 17, 2009 5:34PM
This guy is one of those "should-have-been-bigger" singers... had a GREAT single called "Can't Let Go" which you'll hear in the video. This ended up being one of my favorite interviews... because of the unexpected location.
I just saw him in a preview for the new Drew Barrymore movie, her directorial debut called Whip It. It's in theaters October 2nd.
Congrats Landon, good luck!

Looking back... Jake Shears Interview
Thursday, September 17, 2009 5:30PM
This was one of my first interviews, which got me my last TV job, at Comcast Cable in Boston. I actually walked out of the subway right behind Jake the other day... thought about saying hi but didn't wanna bother him...
Looking back... Mika Interview
Thursday, September 17, 2009 5:29PM
Was just looking back at old interviews... Someone was talking about this guy, Mika. A lot of people have compared him to Freddie Mercury.
I interviewed him in Boston before his show at Avalon (which isn't there anymore). The fans are obviously IN LOVE, as you'll see in the video.
