Religious Right... and Wrong

Before today's historic signing of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, I read a terribly hateful press release from Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt (a bible thumper who was kicked out of the Navy for wearing his uniform to religious and partisan events, a violation of Navy rules).
Klingenschmitt writes: "Conservatives call this bill the "Pedophile Protection Act" because it may now offer federally protected status to 547 classes of sexual deviants, including child molesters, who are now more protected than heterosexuals, violating the principle of equal protection. It further endangers free speech by pastors who quote illegal Bible verses from the pulpit, including Romans 1:32 or Leviticus 20:13, (which I'm about to quote below), which by merely quoting pastors may be accused of "conspiring" to commit violent crimes, should anyone in the church hear their speech and later commit such violent acts against homosexuals."
Sounds to me like he's ENDORSING anti-gay violence. Or at least saying it isn't wrong.
He quotes the infamous Leviticus 20:13: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
But has Mr. Klingenschmitt opened any other pages of his bible?
If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death.

Or in Exodus 21:7, the rules for selling your daughter into slavery.
Has he silenced women in church? Corinthians 14:34 forbids them from speaking there.
Will he attempt to fire every female school teacher? (Timothy 2:11 "I do not permit a woman to teach or have authority over a man.") What about our female politicians? What about the nuns at Sunday school? Well, I suppose they're already on death row for working on the Sabbath...
Mr. Klingenschmitt was discharged from the military for violating Navy uniform protocol. Yet, he told everyone it was because of his religious beliefs.
